Starting Small Era

This doubles as a test post AND an intro!! Hello!!!! Thank you for checking out this site and navigating this far. Currently listening to the album Too Much by Bridal Party, check it out. It’s refreshing to actually write as myself after putting together my ~ professional ~ about section. I can talk about myself for hours, just like every other artist on the planet, but it’s easier in this format. My biggest revelation while putting this website together is that I despise homepages.

By the time you can see this, auditions will be live for The Saguaro Dove and Love in the Mirror!!! And I’m endlessly excited about that. These shows sat in my heart for years before I finally found the right inspiration to create them, so to take it a step further and put them on stage??? What a joy. Between those, Perry in Shadows, and Rise and Grind, so many of my recent projects have featured themes of bodies and our relationship to them (this is so vague, but the only way I can talk without spoilers right now), and I think that’s been healthy for me to explore. I’m sure those ideas will only keep popping up in the future.

Amid the endless to-do list for getting Saguaro/Mirror staged, the creative backlog never ends. I finished all the music for Rise and Grind Act 1, and that’s a huge accomplishment: it’s got ten songs, and I love them all. I should theoretically finish the rest of the script and soundtrack in the next few months, so look out for that. Figuring out which parts to post as demo previews was such an interesting process, since of course I don’t want to give away EVERYTHING, but I need to make sure I can pique a listener’s interest just a little. It’s tough to know when a play is really done, and that goes double for a musical. (Interjection: Too Much ended, now we’ve moved on to Beat Crusade’s Pop on Arrival album, all my fans of the anime Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad out there know the one. HIT IN THE USA moment).

Still deciding if I want to do this just when I have big updates, or weekly, or monthly, but we’ll see. Like anything else, it’s probably good to maintain a consistent schedule. I’m 99% sure I can set this so that you get notified when I post so… make sure you join the mailing list if you want to stay updated on my creative journey!!! If you ever want to collaborate artistically in any capacity, please contact me. :) AND AUDITION FOR THE SAGUARO DOVE/LOVE IN THE MIRROR IF YOU CAN!! OR COME SEE THEM!!!
